11 weeks, Getting our "groove" on, & Some random thoughts

It seems impossible to think back over the past 11 weeks at all that has happened & know that we are actually doing pretty well. There have definitely been days during these 11 weeks that I thought I'd never make it another day. Grief can be so debilitating. I'm really thankful that I've been able to sort of ease back into society gradually by working just a couple days a week. Society should be thankful too. Some days it's just not a good idea for me to be around people. :) It's still nice to have a place to "hide" when I need or want to. Overall I think we are finding our groove, our "new normal." It takes a lot of time to re-adjust your heart & mind to a new hard reality.

Thank you to those of you who remembered us last week in particular. It was a hard week, but we made it. We were able to get away for the weekend. We had a nice time & enjoyed some great sunny weather. God has filled our hearts with HOPE, so we rejoiced in that this past week as well.

There are days when the pain of grief seems to be a good distance away & then I have days when the pain is so fresh & hits me in a new way. During the "good" days, I try to enjoy it while also bracing myself for the next tsunami of grief coming my way, from a different angle, usually one I can't see or anticipate.

You wouldn't believe the amount of mail new parents get. While it's probably exciting to most new parents to receive countless formula coupons & parenting advice from one magazine to the next, it's pretty much a nasty reminder almost weekly of our reality that Leah's not here anymore.

I've met some incredible people on this new journey we're on. A support group called Glory Babies has offered some opportunities to meet people who are on different journeys, but each one involving children in one way or another. An almost instant connection occurs when meeting someone who has lost a child.

Well, that's enough randomness for today. Thanks for reading. And thanks for continuing to pray for us. And we're glad you enjoyed the pictures. :) Thanks for letting us share our daughter with you in a small way.

Have a good Monday. Here's to more "good" days ahead!
