Freezing Individual Cookie Dough Balls

We like cookies at our house. Actually, we like pretty much everything! A friend shared this idea a couple of years ago with me and it has save me tons of time. I have wasted fewer "dried out" cookies because of this tip as well.
Here's my tip:

When making cookie dough, use your cookie scoop (I love this one!) to make your cookies nice & even in size. Place them on a cookie sheet close together.

Cover with wax paper or parchment paper or something like it. Place in the freezer until they are frozen completely. When they are frozen, put the cookie dough balls in a storage container that you can use in the freezer. Use wax paper or parchment paper to separate the layers. Put them back in the freezer.

As you need to make cookies, simply get your container out of the freezer, put the cookies on a cookie sheet, thaw on the counter for a few minutes, and then bake as you normally would!

My husband loves this because I can always send a fresh-baked cookie in his lunch. I love it because I can just bake a half-dozen or a dozen at a time and not waste the dough. And I know that I always have something easy to whip out of the freezer if we need to take something to a party or have friends over unexpectedly.

Good tip!
I should try that. It might make the cookies last a little longer around her. Although, what about the instant gratification of eating cookies (or the dough :)) after going to the work of making it? Just kidding.

That makes so much sense. What a great idea! I did the same process with homemade baby food but never thought to do it with my cookie dough.
